a nice little break

spring break's been pleasant so far. its not as cold as i imagined, but its still not the right temperature for a spring break either. but hey, who am i to complain?

the thing im most glad for is that i am able to rest. once and for all. it really is a much needed rest after a highly intensive 10 weeks ive spent in school.

got a much needed call for an on-site interview from one of the many companies ive interviewed, finally. it was from masterfoods (the one that makes mars, snickers, m&m's, etc) but the cold news hit hard when he revealed that he has an opening for a fall semester. i told him i'll see what i can do, as going down to the plant for an on-site tour is of no harm. its at south carolina, which isnt too far from atlanta either.

but here's the problem. starting in fall will most probably mean that my academic semesters will have to be somewhat adjusted, and if im not wrong, i will have to give my housing job up, coz i remember one of the requirements as having to be studying in the first semester of the job. so that complicates a lot of things. on one hand, i have a definite plan, to spend the fall semester studying, to be a housing staff, and maybe pledge to a fraternity (because being a housing staff = goodbye to social world) and that kinda aligns my classes in such a way that i can finish by the spring or the summer of 2008. however, if i am to put the semester up in the summer, i most probably will have to delay my graduation by a semester, i have not been able to figure that one out yet.

i need some incentives. the good part about taking the job, its a great private company. taking the summer academic semester will put me in 3rd year standing, and i will have priority in taking some of the advanced classes. however, i will have to let go of the housing job, and may need to delay graduation to a 5th year. which i am not willing to. and full time offer is not guaranteed. if the full time employment rate was disclosed, i might be tempted to take the job.

i can assume anything really, i might still be rejected after the on-site one, im actually surprised i got this call too, as i had read about horror stories regarding interviews with mars (they always have trick question) and i personally thought that i screwed my trick question answer pretty bad (i was given questions regarding efficiency of using nuts for confectionaries)

so that's one down. i have yet to hear from the other companies as of yet. i might need to wait around for them before making a decision.

urgh, its now a bigger headache to deal with...
