and so, portugal wins by a single goal against spain, which not only gets them through to the quarter finals, but to end up at the top of group A coz the greeks lost to the russians, but got through anyway. i'll be super mad if i was spanish, spain got kicked out just cause greece scored 2 more goals than they did. but that's the way it goes.
hmm, its gonna be interesting. so long as england doesnt screw up, the quarter final match up of england vs portugal will still be a reality. and it'll most probably be spain vs greece.
but another 2 big name team will bow out in the next 3 days. italy could face the exit, and so could germany. it all remains to be seen.

FIORENTINA IS BACK IN SERIE A!!!!
yes, aggregate score 2-1 against perugia and they're back in the big time!
its unbelievable to think that they were in the champions league playing against arsenal not too long ago and they were playing in italy's fourth division just 2 years ago. and its a fairytale come true for angelo di livio, who was in italy's team in the 2002 world cup, but after that, he proceeded to play in the fourth division, coz of his love for the team and the city. what a gesture. and then, he went on to get back at the top level in just 2 years.
20 team serie a next season. i gotta keep an eye on what happens to fiorentina, but i sure hope they wont be relegated.
