NCAA Baseball Championship

and the draw for the college national baseball championship was announced just now.

i was surprised to see that georgia tech made it to the country's top 8 teams, which means we get better bracket draw. the top 8 arwe designated so that the country's top 8 should not meet eachother til the national quarter finals, which is called the college world series.

i guess the 20 consecutive matches won in the late surge to the season made us jump in the rankings. oh in case i forgot to mention, we lost the ACC championship. lost it badly, to 3rd seed florida state. i was shocked that tech was given another chance when they lost the first match. the play offs have a funny thing, where if the no.1 seed makes it to the final unbeaten and then are beaten in the finals, they get a re match. basically a second chance. its the first time im following national baseball, so im not sure how it works in the NCAA, but i guess i'll find out.

so tech meets jacksonville state for their first match and its either texas tech or mississippi state after that. and what's juicy? the match before college world series could be a potential local derby header against univ. of georgia. that's real tasty. so its either tech or UGA that should go into the CWS. well, if tech manages to win all the way that is. for the first two rounds, we have home advantage, so it should be ok.

its looking pretty gd. match starts this fri.

will they emulate the men's basketball into making it all the way to the national champioship?
