idol down to the wire

dont worry, im not gonna reveal the winner til about 12 hours later, but its reported that the number of votes, which includes phones as well as text votes totalled up to 65 million.

65 million! and the result is split by only 1%. which means the winner won by roughly 650, 000 votes.

n i wonder how many of the votes were real votes. i mean, there's like 25 to 27 million viewers? how can it go more than double? it really puts a light on the legitimacy of the votes.

you want spoilers? here's one for u guys. the winner's first name ends with an 'a' and the last name ends with an 'o.'

okay, that's quite lame.

with this, the season practically ends for television shows, so at the end of it, CBS topped the charts, followed by NBC and FOX at third. CBS was strong with its Survivor and CSI viewership, and NBC topped it off with Friends and Frasier and of course, The Apprentice. FOX, needless to say, solely on American Idol.

NBC are seriously screwed. now that Friends and Frasier is gone, they have to get back on track with fresh shows.

FOX wont need to worry and CBS will continue being on top, primarily because they have an advantage over the fact that viewers prefer to catch CSI on their own, whereas Idol is viewed in a group, but that seems to count as only one. but then, Idol is the top of the charts in terms of most watched shows so it doesnt matter as much.

not that it makes any difference, there isnt a price for being at the top. but Friends, Survivor, Idol and such took a heavy toll on WB, which dropped 11% as compared to last year. Smallville clashes with big timers, and it clearly isnt working out too well for WB.
