andy griffin, a 25 year old right back for newcastle leaves after 6 years of service that includes 90 appearances for the magpies.
he leaves on a free transfer to join portsmouth, the surprise package this year.
somehow or other i cant help but feel sad, coz he has always endured missing out on chances due to injuries and kept pressing on even though he faced stiff competition from other right backs.
wish him all the best, as i liked this player quite a lot. he's been there since i started supporting newcastle in '98 and one of the original set of the team that i got to know.
let me recollect how many of the original team remains..
shay given, steve harper, aaron hughes, gary speed, alan shearer.....
