quick post

i havent been updating, and for obvious reasons, because i am pretty busy. especially this week. i have an econs test, a CS test and material science test. on top of that, i have 2 interviews scheduled. i'm supposedly on the second round stage for john deere and milliken, but have yet to hear from them since. i really hope i get an on-site interview offer soon. right now, those two companies and masterfoods USA are the companies i really would like to consider.

and i have to do laundry and pack before friday evening, coz i have a flight to catch, which will first take me to detroit before heading to chicago.

sports update.. newcastle's been pretty awesome recently. FA Cup semi finals against the manures, i dont know how that will turn out, but hopefully for the better. we have a decisive advantage over olympiakos in the UEFA Cup, which should clear us for the quarter finals. so all's good on that side. georgia tech produced a brilliant run of consecutive wins in the recent weeks, before being humbled by tournament favourite duke. at least we got to the ACC championship game and successively a 5th seeding on the bracket. we'll face george washington on the 18th, which shouldn't be a problem, but the 2nd round is probably going to be tough, against in-form louisville.

bunch of the guys are going to pool in 5 bucks to see who can project the tournament the best. so whenever i have free time, im gonna be studying the brackets. as usual, some ties are really hard to call, and if you try to factor in the unprobably upsets, its really quite a task.

i offically became an e-bay-er. i spent a considerable amount of time looking for newcastle merchandise and was surprised to find a number of size s shirts at a rather reasonable price. i was so excited that i initially went out of control, and was braced to spend a considerable amount of money, but thankfully a number of people outbid me. a number of away jerseys from past seasons, a season review DVD is enough. i dont really spend a lot, so these expenses should not be a hefty burden on my part. its amazing how many things u can find. if i spend some time on it, i could probably sell off my collection of things such as old CDs, mangas, comics and merchandise. too bad they're in singapore.

if you guys read the news, then there was a national incidence taking place only about 5 minutes drive away from where i live. some guy grabbed a gun from a deputy officer escorting him to a court trial and he shot the supreme court judge of atlanta as well as two other people and ran off, sparking off an emergency national manhunt. he surrendered eventually, but that incidence was something that was very surprising. i mean, how often does someone get hold of a gun from a deputy, and not only that, shoot and kill the supreme court judge?

watched a number of good movies, they screened 'diarios da motocicleda' at the student center on friday evening, which my friends enjoyed it thoroughly. we then watched 'goodbye lenin' which we missed on wednesday, and 'the village' on saturday (was pretty interesting... a usual twist trend in the end by m. night shyamalan) and 'hable con ella' last night. a good blend of foreign and artistic films.

and now, instead of this being a quick post, it became a full entry.
