maths today... well, as i expected it, it was kinda bad, but i think i did better than how i expected myself to do. juz like any other time, i could've done better, only tt i figured out some of the questions after the paper ended. haha, too late. but thinkin bt it now, i dun understand how i could hav not thought of the solution. o well, exam conditions r not exactly the condusive environment for optimum performance, but wth. as i recall my maths tutor Mrs. Wong sayin to my class, 'juz try to pass paper 1.' so i pretty much knew it was gonna b tough. mayb a little easier than i would hav thought.

the prelims r much harder than the A's. everyone more or less knows tt. i wouldnt know bt japanese, (i'm not trynna show off but theres not easy or hard for me, juz look, do it. its more or less usin wat i know bout the language) but it seems its set two grades tougher. dunno wat i'm trynna say? My physics tutor, Mr. Mannan, a fantastic teacher, told us tt if we get a C for physics for prelims, then considerin u continue to study consistently after tt, an A is in the offing for the A's. So i'll assume it more or less works like tt for the other subjects as well. If tts the case, i'm lookin at a grim prelims result. So i guess i shouldnt send my prelim scores for university entry. I'll try my best to get a C for phy, coz its prob the only subject i feel gd bt, but it seems i always fall short of the A class. Except for the first JC exam i sat for, tt's the common tests, i've always got B for physics in exams. Mr. Mannan once told me, 'if you were a share, i wouldnt invest in you coz you neither improve or deprove.' Haha, its comfortin to know tt, but tt means i can do better. juz few marks away from tt coveted A. Hope the other subjects r at least C in the A's. I'll b happy wif tt coz tt's the minimum to get credits in America.

Talkin bt universities, i think i've more or less decided the candidates. Maybe i need to cut down one or two. here's the list in order of college rankin or reputation;
1. Cornell (would b a dream come true to go here)
2. U Penn (so would this)
3. Carnegie Mellon (top computer school)
4. U of Michigan - Ann Arbor (i'm targettin to get here for now)
5. U of Illinois - Urbana Champaigne (excellent programs, however not known widely)
6. U of Southern California (standard's gd, n my cousin's there)
7. U of Texas - Austin (cowboy time! haha, nah, its quite gd)
8. U of Massachusetts - Amherst (cousins r ex students, plus, its near Boston)

and maybe UC - Berkeley (hard to get in, so not sure whether to apply but its class!)

Yea.. i think most prob, i'll go to U of Texas or U of Mass, do freshman and sophomore, work damn hard to get good GPA, n then transfer to Ivy League schools. its a common practice i was told. its easiest way to sneak into Ivies tt way. But it'll b convenient if i can land myself in a top school from start.

tomorrow is phy prac. unlike chem prac, which can b tedious, i think phy prac r given to us to score full marks. i'm not kiddin. it virtually impossible to get anythin wrong, coz u basically do wat the question tells u, record anythin tt u see. the answer comes to u. serious. unless u screw up the method or somethin, theres no way u can get anythin wrong. at the most, 2 or 4 marks gone. out of 34 or somethin. unlike chem prac, which sums up to 50 mks, (its worth more than mcq...) phy prac is given 30 or so marks, but contribute v little, mayb tts y its easy, but nevertheless an important component. i think i did my paper 5, design prac more or less ok, so i'll keep the momentum goin to get tt C!

wat else... o, saw this music video by George Michael. "Spinning that wheel" Havent heard tt song in a long time, but sure it was nice. Brought me back to those days. Also came to my mind was Montell Jordan's "Careless whisper" another excellent one. gonna listen to em after i get back from prac tomorrah.

alrite then, i think tt sums up the day for me...
